University of Michigan Rescinds D's??

Hey guys, so I had been accepted to U-M with a 3.8 senior GPA. I’ve managed to keep up my grades (the A’s and B’s) for almost all my classes, except for AP Physics.

I had an A in the first term, and that was the grade I sent in to UM before getting accepted. And then I had a B on the second term, and I just recently failed a test really badly, which pulled my third term average to a D+. I feel there might be very little I can salvage by now, maybe bump it up to a C-? But my cumulative will be a B-. Usually, my school doesn’t have term subdivisions on transcripts but they might. So are they going to rescind me for this? I’m really really worried right now. I read in the Michigan website that they considering revoking applications if a student gets 3 or more C’s or any D’s and F’s…Is that true?

Thanks guys.

It rarely ever happens, but one bad grade won’t do it for you (unless you fail it). You have nothing to worry about if you have one bad grade in AP Physics and the worst that will happen is that UMich will email you telling you to do better.

Don’t sweat it. The final grade in the class is what is important.

For almost every college, it’s true.

Then there should be no issue.

They only see your grades on final transcript. You should be fine. However, they do rescind around 50 admitted students each year.

Michigan will look for your final grade for the year. A, B, D = B-. You are fine. Try to improve your grade as much as possible.

Ok thank you guys so much. I talked to my college counselor too, and she said I’ll be fine.
