I got in!!! This was my dream!!! I heard back at around 9:00 and had a heart attack!! Freaking out!!!

Do you get notified either way? So far no email.

I saw elsewhere on the internet that someone did get a rejection email. I, therefore, do not think lack of notification is a bad thing.

@WishfulWolverine:

Congrats!

Care to post stats? :P

Anyone else still haven’t recieved an email yet?

I don’t know what this is…

is this like a deferral message that i received

The Ross Undergraduate Admissions Committee at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business has conducted a review of your application for Preferred Admission. You are to be commended on your many academic and personal achievements.

We have received over 2,000 applications from outstanding applicants that are competing to be selected as one of approximately one hundred Preferred Admission students this fall making for an extremely competitive process. Although your qualifications indicate that you could be a successful student at Michigan Ross, the large number of applicants for a limited number of places prevents us from making a final decision at this time. Your application will remain active within our process. Please do not send any additional information at this time. We will provide a final determination before the end of April.

I still haven’t gotten an email. Congrats to those who got in!

@Futureproof don’t lose hope. They still have you in consideration :)

@Futureproof Did you put deposit down yet? I wonder if that is there way to make you commit to the school before they accept you? For my son, if he doesn’t get into Ross he does not want to go to UM. All other schools he was admitted straight into business except ND, which allows you to choose BS without further application. For him, too risky not to be admitted and give up other options. Good luck to you all.

@riogemini I have not put down a deposit yet. I do not know yet if I will be attending U Mich without getting into Ross so it is really annoying that I need to wait until Mid-Late April to find out now.

It just sounds like they haven’t had ample time to view your application. I don’t think a deposit really matters.

Yes, I was accepted.

@Futureproof

I just recieved the same email as you. It looked like a rejection as I was scrolling through, but it seems like they need more time to decide for the borderline applicants. At least there’s still hope!

@godiva123 Well i hope that a decision is made sooner rather than later. I have never heard of ross doing these deferral style emails before this

I got the same deferral esque notification. To be honest, I would have rather been rejected; late April is way too long to wait/might get antsy and want to put down a deposit for another college/etc. Also, wasn’t aware that the supplement essay about the specific school that you wanted to go to was supposed to be strictly about Ross; lol, mine was mostly about LSA, and then a bit about Ross at the end, so I guess we see how that turned out.

Anybody know the difference between being differed or wait listed for pre-admit to Ross?

By differed you mean deferred…It means that they haven’t decided on you. They need more time. Wait listed would mean they have given your application a good look, and decided you are on the border. Once everyone accepts (or declines) they will get back to you and tell you if they now have a spot for you.

So does that mean it is better to be deferred or wait-listed?

Well…It really would depend on preference. If you are a stronger applicant, then deferred would be better because there would still be a chance of direct admission to the program. If you are a weaker applicant, then getting waitlisted could be a really good thing. Most importantly, they are both better than a rejection! :)

Accepted with 32 ACT. But award letter only had 3250 subsidized loan. :(

Add OOS and have not sent deposit to above.
