Hey guys I will be applying out-of-state to LSA at Michigan and if I decide to go there my plan would be to gain admission to Ross as a Sophomore.

Background:
My SAT score is 2110 and GPA is 3.8/4.15 which would potentially put me in the ball park for Ross preferred admission but because my high school is particularly competitive and two of my friends with similar stats have been deferred EA, I have decided I will apply to LSA.

My question is, in answering the following prompt, would it lower my chances of getting in if I focused the essay on my plan to enter Ross as a Sophomore?

Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests? (500 words maximum)

I might seem a little paranoid asking a question like this but my train of thought is that the application might be reviewed by admissions officers from the specific department/school and me writing an essay focused on a different school than the one I will initially apply to might look bad to them or even if one group of officers reviews all applications this sort of plan may evoke a response like "Well, why isn't this kid applying preferred admission to Ross?" (Even though as I understand it a LOT of people end up joining Ross as Sophomores)

Thanks for any input, Paul
