Essay Question/Chances

This is one of the supplemental essays

Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests?

I'm applying to LSA, and I think I might apply for preferred admission to Ross. My question is whether I should talk about LSA, Ross, or both of them in this essay.

I would also liked to be chanced for LSA. (I know everyone's chances for preferred admissions to Ross is slim). I'm also applying to Michigan State and Central Michigan.

I go to a top high school in Michigan and will be a senior this fall.

GPA UW: 3.81
ACT: 32C: 30E 34M 32R 31S

Tough course load - 7 AP's (US History, Biology, Micro/Macro, Government, Calc BC, Psychology) and Honors Geometry, Algebra II and Pre-Calc

EC's:
4 years of high school soccer, 3 years on Varsity
10 years of travel soccer at a competitive level
I've had the same job every year of high school
Different volunteering projects in the summer
NHS junior and senior year
Freshman mentor program - 2 years

I'm also interested in business/economics, so are there any schools with good business schools that I would have a realistic chance of getting into?

Figure out your GPA using Michigan’s scale. They drop plusses and minuses which is a big boost if you have a lot of A-s but not helpful if you have B+s.

You have to indicate on the commonapp if you are applying to LSA or Ross. You should tailor you essay according. Nevetheless, you can always mention something about the LSA as you will definitely take some classes there and perhaps even a minor. Last but not least, Ross preadmit is very competitive and it is a reach for you.

My GPA calculated using Michigan’s scale is 3.94. And I know Ross pre admit is super competitive but could you chance me for LSA?

That recalculate GPA of 3.94 is much better as it is now well above average for LSA. Are you in state? If you are, it should be a easy match for you.

“You have to indicate on the commonapp if you are applying to LSA or Ross.”

But are you not effectively applying to both since you default to LSA, COE, etc. if you are not accepted to Ross Pre/admit but are accepted in general?

I don’t think Ross looks at the application until you’re accepted into LSA. And I am in state
