University of michigan transfer

I just finished my app for University of Michigan! A little stressed about it... Anyone else in the same boat? Good luck everyone!!! :)

I submitted my application on Jan 3.

Which school did you apply to? Are you transferring?

LSA. Of course I am transferring. This is the transfer forum and you specified ‘transfer’ in the thread title.

Just making sure because some people aren’t and answer anyways. What are your stats like?

I’m transferring too! Still working on the app though. Really hope we get in!

I know! Fingers crossed - I just have to have my high school transcript sent over and then I’m done! What UofM school are you applying to? LSA?

Does anyone know the timeframe on when they will release their decisions?

Nope, applying to engineering.

@onlyashes11, well considering that the deadline is March 1st, I’m guessing not before April

The deadline for LSA is Feb 1st, but I would expect to get our decisions within 6-8 weeks of applying.

I applied to LSA on the 20th. I think we will all hear back within a month of applying. So nervous!!!

ramezb… unless you are applying to a different university of michigan, college of engineering… the deadline for applications is Feb. 1st… i have confirmed this several times since there is one document i found that did say march first… however in meeting with the transfer admissions coordinator several times in the past weeks i can assure you the deadline for fall 2011 is feb first… good luck =)

heres a link

Apparently some are already receiving their decisions! My friend who submitted his application on 1/10/11, but had thought that it had not been received by Umich since the wolverine access page never marked that his college transcript as received, was rejected on 2/8/11.

He had an an 4.0 from Michigan State as well, which sort of sets a bad tone for the rest of us.

Anyways, good luck to you all!

Do you know how he found out he was rejected? Like on wolverine access, email, or letter?

I applied on 1/10 from MSU with a 3.6 GPA for Engineering

His decision was sent via email. But he’s doing MSU honors instead so it’s no biggie.

As for me,I’m a physics major at MSU, and got a 3.9 first semester.
Managed to even squeeze a letter of rec from my English professor although it took some convincing since they are rival schools.

Just found out though, that the transfer essay was supposed to be generic to all schools, and I made mine Umich specific since it was the only school I was applying to. Hopefully my app isn’t affected by the fact that I didn’t follow instructions…

No don’t worry about the essay part, wasn’t that in the uMich supplement portion?

To what and when did you apply?

Wow! a 4.0 from a respected U denied? holy smokes!

maybe it’s because jan 10th is too late to apply although I have little idea of what is considered “late” in rolling admissions. I do know they give a lot of emphasis and applying early.

When did most of you apply?

no, the transfer essay was on the common app.

I’m applying LSA and applied on Jan 18.
3.9 GPA Physics MSU
3.4 high school GPA
28 ACT
w/ rec letter.

What about you sailor09?

Decisions came out today for some people. I applied 1/19/11 and received mines today 2/8/11. I was accepted !!! The link is in the wolverine access portal.

I find it quite odd that the few transfers who are getting “accepted” have all joined in the past few weeks and only have 1 or 2 posts.
