University of Michigan vs UIUC Computer Science

Hi everyone!

This is my first post on CC, so here it goes. I realize there are many other threads concerning this, but I would like a more updated perspective. Right now, I am deciding between UMich and UIUC (both out-of-state) for Computer Science, and both universities seem quite similar in what they have to offer. UMich is slightly more expensive, but is an overall, all-around better school than UIUC, which is slightly better for computer science; however, if I do want to do an MBA, I was wondering if doing a minor in Business Admin at Ross would help me?

Also, is it possible to pursue multiple extracurricular activities while doing CS at either of these universities? And are the classes cutthroat/competitive? Would UIUC, having the higher CS ranking, really afford me better job opportunities coming out of college versus UMich?

Finally, which one do you guys think would provide a better college experience/atmosphere overall?

Thanks to anyone who replies! I realize these are a lot of questions haha

I would pick Michigan for the general overall college experience. CS is great at both so I would not consider that at all. MBA admissions are a full topic in itself so I don’t want to get into that here. But yes likely a bus minor is positive if you can swing it. It will familiarize you with basic concepts.
