University of Michigan Winter 2023 Transfer

Loos fairly random

Check the University of Michigan CDS - I do this for every college. Find the latest one and find the section that says Transfer Admission. You’ll find all the juicy details in there.

You are correct. The CDS is the holy grail…

does anyone else feel like this round’s transfer thread is a little emptier than the usual transfer threads?

That’s a good sign hopefully?

Not sure. University of Michigan and basically every college received record numbers of applications for First Year. They might cut back on transfers

they did enact a new transfer policy though: no one without at least two semesters of graded college coursework will be admitted for transfer. maybe that will even the odds?
(lmk if i’m reading it wrong tho!: Apply | U-M LSA Transfer Student Center )

Oh yeahhh, that’s actually true. I completed 52 credits and 63 by the end of this semester. the more credits the more competitive?

for sure! i’ve heard that 55+ is the best but i’m not too sure of an exact number.

is that 55+ transferable credit or just the credit you have when you applying

the latter

sure, it’s weird that there’s only 30ish post here and i think its less than 10 people whereas its usually like hundreds lmao

and it’s not only Umich, basically all the schools I applied are like this just like Gatech lmao

lol where all getting accepted then

Yeah I applied to Gatech too and their forum is even drier.

I’m pretty sure that a low number of applicants means we get our decisions much earlier. It’s probably less than 70 ppl applying tbh

for Michigan? really?

lmao I’m thinking if they need more than 70 will they even read the application or not

I can’t make assumptions ofc, but I’m seeing much lower numbers for transfers everywhere. Last year was a bloodbath for first year students (got rejected from every college) and it might have resulted in only a few transfer applicants. Most people apply for Fall, then Spring, then Winter. You could say that the low number of people is a good sign that there aren’t many applicants, but you could say that they were all taken in during more popular cycles. There are only 10 unique users on this thread, 6 if you consider the ones that posted in the past two months. Try to find how many unique users were in the Fall 2021 cycle, and how many in Fall 2022. If that also decreased, then it would mean that we’re in the clear, but if that number doubled, then it would mean that they might have no more spaces left.
