I don’t understand why they won’t release how many kids are on the wait list ._. They’ve done so in the years past

@trossi2121 Do you know anyone else on the wait list for nursing?

late to the party but i’m also on the waitlist

Seems that the yield this year is gonna be high…sighs

My D is also waitlisted. She hasn’t accepted yet, but thinking of doing it in the next few days or so.

@ivyleaguefan Why do you think so?

Have you guys emailed them the acceptance letter.I am planning to send mine by tomorrow. :)>-

@TimKanake you mean the plea?

Did any of you guys receive a response from your admissions officer?

@teampat I got a reply 2 minutes after I sent my email lol I was kindof freaked out haha

I got a reply too! But only when I insisted that she confirmed she had received my updates :P

When are wait list acceptances or rejections sent out ?

sophie: look at the calendar. The admitted students do not inform Penn of their decisions until May 1st. After that, Penn sees how many slots remain unfilled. Then they start looking at the WL if any are available. Thus, action, if any, begins mid May.

Usually from the middle of May until some time in late June. There’s generally a process of narrowing down that occurs, so that the bulk of those on the waiting list will be released from the list relatively early (by late May or early June, if memory serves). If you do a search in the Penn forum for threads with “waiting list,” “wait list,” and “waitlist” in the title, you’ll find threads from past years in which applicants posted what and when wait-list action occurred.

@Sophie1295 How long did it take for your officer to answer your email?

After I asked her to confirm, it took her two days. Then I asked her for something else and she replied the next day. I’m sure we are the least of the admissions officers priority , but they are kind enough to reply if you ask them something. But she never replied to the very first mail I sent her :P

Also I talked to one of the admission officers they pull people from the waitlist on a rolling decision. Is it true that some people get accepted as early as April 29?

That’s never been reported here on CC (and I’ve been watching posts here for years). Also, it seems kind of illogical not to wait until after the May 1st deadline for accepted applicants to respond.

As a couple of us old, grizzled veterans (sorry, T26E4 ) have already posted, wait-list action generally doesn’t start until mid-May.

So I called and they project a greater number of wl acceptances this year because the number of cross-admitted students is pretty large

^ Who told you that? I’m surprised that someone in the Admissions Office would say that to an applicant who called in, especially before the reply deadline for admitted students has even passed.
