UPenn 2021 Waitlist

Hey ya’ll <:-P

hello

The common data set for 2014-2015 shows UPenn offered a waitlist spot to 2651 students, 1600 accepted and 136 got in from the waitlist. The waitlist is ranked.

My question for anyone in the know, if I call admissions and ask what my waitlist rank is, will they tell me?
Is there a waitlist per college, meaning a ranked waitlist for Wharton for example?

Waitlisted at Wharton as well. Wondering about the chances.

@HYPSPlease It’s ranked? Hmm, I’ll try calling tomorrow to see if they can tell me my rank.

Penn was almost fully enrolled last year (They announced fully enrolled). They only took very few from waiting list. You may check the 2020 WL thread for more info.

@realityhitshard, ranked according to this: http://www.upenn.edu/ir/Common%20Data%20Set/UPenn%20Common%20Data%20Set%202014-15.pdf

page 7.

Yeah I got waitlisted at CAS, please let me know @HYSPSPlease if you can actually find info on whether they will disclose your rank or not, thanks!

Waitlisted for colege of engg. Any one here who is also waitlisted for engg

I was waitlisted to cas, only Ivy League that I applied to. Anything you guys are doing to improve your chances?

Waitlisted even with the snail mail?!?! :’(

I think I am going to call after school today to see if it is ranked

Waitlisting is rarely a reason for hope

Dean of Admissions Eric Furda added that the waitlist is usually meant as a courtesy. For example, if Penn cannot accept any applicants from a given high school, it may waitlist some of those applicants in order to maintain a relationship with that school. This logic, Furda said, even applies to parents.

@USUG21 I was waitlisted for engineering

When are you guys planning on sending your letter of continued interest? And are you going to send updated transcripts along with it?

A couple of things.
• If it is ranked, it’s unlikely that they’ve ranked it the day after Ivy Day.
• The CDS asks “If yes, do you release that information to students?” If Penn did not answer the question for the CDS, it’s unlikely that they will answer the question for you.

All you can do is send in your LOCI and see what happens. Good luck.

Well, I called and the woman told me it isn’t ranked. Maybe they changed or maybe they just don’t want to get a flood of students asking about their rank.

i’ve been waitlisted for the school of engineering as well–if it isn’t ranked is admission simply based on a first come first serve basis? forgive my stupidity if this is common knowledge.

hopefully it is not ranked, and if it was then that would suck :frowning: I’ll call on Monday to inquire about the waitlist.

In thr FAQ its written its unranked
