UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA CLASS OF 2018 WAITLIST

I have never heard of penn z-listing.
@jashbella-It’s offering them a place in class of 2019. They have to take a gap year

Z-list is apparently, “You can come here, but only starting next year”

So you can’t go to college at all for a year or you go somewhere?

To my knowledge, Penn doesn’t “z-list” (as that’s been defined here).

It sounded to me like you take a gap year. Going to college during that year would probably void the agreement, because it would make you a transfer student. Feel free to correct me, though, anyone

So if he didn’t get acceptance today means it’s over??

^ Not necessarily. There is usually more than one round of waiting list acceptances. Also, Penn usually releases the majority of applicants from the waiting list at some point in the process (sometime in early June or so, if memory serves), and then maintains a much smaller waiting list until mid-summer to handle any needs that may arise.

I just want to know. NOW. Honestly I’m fine with not getting in, because I’m happy with where I’ve committed… but I can’t help but REALLY REALLY want to get off this dang thing. Waitlists are soooo nerve wracking. Either take me our not, I say!

gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

And congrats to everyone!!! I was curious though, did they mention in your acceptance emails approximately how many kids they were looking to take off the waitlist? Any numbers at all?

@benedictharold‌ I got nothing… just a congratulations and that I have to make a decision in a week’s time

Thank you and I’m so happy for you! Hopefully I’ll see you in person come August XD

@Calmwhisper‌ @Littlerain1 Congrats first of all! if you guys don’t mind me asking, what states/region are you from? Does anyone know if the acceptances go out in order of regions?

@jy2013‌ I’m American but living as an expat in The Netherlands, in Europe! I have no idea about the waitlist process… the acceptance was entirely unexpected! Sorry if this doesn’t help much… :(

@jy2013‌ International. Living in the Uk. And was given a week to make the decision.I am not sure what the process is but can infer that once the week runs out,there will be more openings. Don’t worry. We had given up as rejects in all colleges except this one and uchicago .

my friend got off the wharton waitlist this morning!

I’m losing hope here guys :frowning: They didn’t even reply when I sent my letter of intent back in April (i sent to the eapps email not the regional officer)

Hopeless. Ahhhhh…

I really want to kill myself

That might be an overreaction

@ivyleaguefan welcome to the club
