I am I supposed to get a confirmation email after I send my deposit?
@BlueRX, you are! If you made a deposit and didn’t get it, please inbox me your full name and I can look it up when I am in the office tomorrow and let you know if the deposit went through.

I recieved a letter in November that asked for my October ACT scores and my mid-year grades. I sent my ACT scores immediately after receiving the letter and I sent my mid-year grades about 3 weeks ago. When should I expect to hear back from Pitt? It’s one of my top schools and it will be the last school that I hear from (so far I’m 6/6, but Pitt is probably a reach for me). Whenever I hear back, should I expect to hear back by email or snail mail first? Either way, I’m trying to stay positive and I’m hoping for the best!
@hailtopitt1787 in the same position as @FutDent55 regarding mid-year grades, however I sent in my mid-year grades a week ago after receiving a letter last month. When should I expect to hear back?
@FutDent55 and @Sciencelover123, when mid-year grades are sent in, it takes a little bit of time for us to process everything and then for the Admissions Committee to review your application again. I would say 3-4 weeks after we receive the grades in the mail is typical, but there are occasions where it can take just a little longer. You should hear soon, though!
And as for how you will hear, it depends. Students who are accepted to the main campus hear by email first. All other decisions are relayed via snail mail first.
I know waiting is the stressful part, but our Admissions Committee works hard to give everyone a thorough and fair review, which does take some time with our large applicant pool.
Best of luck!

@hailtopitt1787 Thank you so much for the response! I’m trying my best to remain patient throughout this whole process. I’m hoping to hear back soon!
@FutDent55, I am happy to help any way I can. I know the waiting period is not easy, but I think you should hear fairly soon. Best of luck to you!
@hailtopitt1787 Thanks for the reply! Will definitely keep my eyes open in the upcoming weeks!
When will the housing applications be coming out?
I think you get mailed a packet a few weeks after your tuition deposit
Ugh, I only got accepted to the Johnstown campus and the main campus was at the top of my list >:P
And I just sent my mid-year grades last week. I’d thought this would’ve been a lengthier process to make a more informed decision.
@Packrat5000, You get the housing packet after you have paid your tuition deposit. The first batch of housing packets will be going out by the end of this month/beginning of March.
Submitted app December 31, accepted around January 15th into Honors College - 32 ACT, 4.01 W GPA 3.88 UW, haven’t gotten any word about merit scholarships. Weren’t those letters supposed to have gone out by now?
While a 32 ACT may be enough for honors college eligibility, I think scholarships required min 33 ACT or 1450 SAT m+cr plus A average and 5% class rank. And they are competitive.
Did you also include supplemental info, essay, LOR, list of EC activities?
Also Dec 31 was cutting it kind of close, all the materials had to be received by January 15th.
Not sure if anyone knows, but if you get your housing info in the first batch are you going to have a different, earlier housing deadline than someone who commits later?
I have just been informed that Scholarship Committee has extended their decision making period past March 1st in order to review the large number of applications they have received. So to those who have not heard yet, it may be the case that your application is still under review.

Thank you @hailtopitt1787. Any idea when the new deadline will be?
@Marylandfour, I do not have an exact deadline. They will work until everyone has been reviewed. I am sure they are aiming to have everything done as soon as possible, while still ensuring each student gets a fair review.
Best of luck!
