Does anyone know if there is an admissions portal or anything for the Honors College? I’ve already been accepted to Pitt but I opted on Common App to be considered for Honors and did the essay(s) for it on there, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is something else I should be doing/checking? I haven’t received my official acceptance letter in the mail, just the email with the video saying I was accepted, so I don’t know if any info comes with that official letter.
@virgosun Honors deadline is not until Dec 1. They let you know in mid-March (I think) through your portal if you’ve been accepted to it.
@vannevka Thank you so much! That’s what I figured but I didn’t want to miss anything
@virgosun: interesting how you received the email before the snail letter of acceptance. In my daughter’s case we are still waiting for that email but received the snail letter a few days back. Daughter has been checking spam folder too but nothing so far. Did anyone else have the same scenario?
My daughter has also received her letter via snail mail but no email yet.
I would just like to announce my daughter finally got her buttons tonight!! We have been waiting for 6 weeks. Hopefully we will get the official letter in the mail soon with financial aid/scholarship information.
Congrats to your daughter !!!
will merit scholarships also come out in March?
Do you know if Pitt is heavily going to look at GPA this year? My GPA is not the best (below 3.5) and was not able to retake the SAT again (will be submitting 1110) because COVID cancelled it… twice. Planning to apply as Undecided in the Dietrich school. I also have excellent ECs and my SA answers are pretty good too.
@2021YayCollege that is weird! I actually got the letter yesterday a couple hours after I posted my previous message. I’m not sure why it came in the order I did. I live in-state, about 6 hours from Pittsburgh so it’s not like that’s why it took so long. The letter was dated October 6th which was the day after I received the acceptance email.
@virgosun: have you received the acceptance email yet? We are still waiting for the email.
@2021YayCollege My daughter received her letter in the mail a week ago but still no email.
@CanCam - still waiting here and I have to tell you, your posts were reassuring- my D applies 9/28, so later than yours, but I kept seeing others getting reply. I think her stats are good, but you never know what colleges are looking for. She applied to business school, so fingers crossed. She went to an honors open house and really liked the students that she spoke with- here’s hoping all goes well
My son got his buttons today. Applied 9/27. Sat scores sent 10/13. I won’t tell him though he’d rather see it in an email or snail mail.
@2021YayCollege I got my acceptance email on 10/5. I applied on 9/21 and my SRAR was submitted on 9/25
Finally got my buttons! Transfer app for the BA/BS between Arts & Sciences and Business. Admission portal only says “Arts & Science” Undeclared though.
Do you think that means I was denied from the joint major? And what about Honors College. Waiting on the email for my info about hopefully a merit scholarship and Honors acceptance.
@blondeboynj: I read that Honors College acceptance letters are sent later. After the button changes the portal will always show Undeclared. What intended major you got selected for will most likely be in the snail mail acceptance letter.
Hello! My button on the portal changed, and got accepted this afternoon!!
I applied 9/30, OOS, no test scores, 3.98W for the Business School, completed two writing prompts, and button changed 10/20. I’m waiting for the physical mail now
Good luck to everyone else.
My D submitted application in Common App on 10/04/20. The portal’s button changed on 10/13/20 but no email or postal mail yet.
Good luck to all !!!
Is there any rhyme or reason? Still waiting here. My daughter did email to see if honors app was received because there was no way to see on the portal. They did get it and attached it to her application. Application was end of Sept, and honors essay was submitted about a week later. Fingers crossed! She is a great student, so hopefully she gets some good news soon.
