Rank ~top 8% (large public school, ranked at the top of NC)
7 APs and 19 Honors Classes
Did 2 of the supplements and also good ECs (NHS, community service, leadership positions, etc.)
I missed the GAP Medicine program deadline, but I heard someone else got nominated a few posts up. Do I still have a chance to be nominated or is it too late?

have you received an email yet about gap? i got the letter but not email with credentials

i think the deadline to submit your app for gap was november 1st

Does anyone know if I was not accepted into business at this time (due to not taking the required pre-calculus), would I automatically be considered for Dietrich? I called to change the consideration which they said they would however portal still reads as business. Also, it will be 5 weeks tomorrow so Im hoping that’s not bad news?

I applied on 11/17
Just got my buttons today (12/15)
Haven’t received the email yet, just checked my buttons out of the blue.
Waiting for honors college decision!

Congrats !! Can you plz share your
stats /major/state OOS

Submitted 11/12 OOS for Dietrich. No buttons / decision yet. Submitted honors app a couple weeks later and just recently had teachers send recs by email (not required, just as a supplement because no scores). Could submitting these additions to app later be delaying decision?

Notice for those that submitted without test scores and waiting for merit aid----

I just randomly looked at my daughter’s portal (admitted early Oct, OOS) and she’s been given $5000/year University Scholarship. She has a 4.0 UW/4.5 W, no test scores. They say they take essays into account and, personally, I thought her personal statement was very strong but her two Pitt SAQs were mediocre. So we’re happy she was offered something!

Just checked me daughter’s portal… still no merit aid. She has 1570 SAT, and a 4.0 (4.7 weighted, 13 APs). Not sure why she hasn’t been awarded any merit yet (in-state) -accepted mid October.

Did you try calling them?

no, but my daughter sent an email last week and has not heard back.

My daughter got her buttons on 12/3, her email on 12/7 and her snail mail acceptance package today (12/15). She received GAP to MBA program but not honors or merit $. Does honors and merit $ come separately?

I’ve been checking this site throughout the process so I thought I would share with you - accepted 12/7 but applied 9/29 and received 15k/yr today, OOS, 4.38w 3.8uw, 13 AP w decent EC, 35 ACT no superscore. Good luck to everyone!

Can you say which school? My son applied 11/7 to business school and hasn’t heard anything. We’re assuming it’s a no at this point, but trying to hold out a tiny bit of hope.

My son got the accept/ decline buttons last Tuesday, December 8th. He received the email of Friday, December 11th. The letter arrived via mail today, Tuesday, December 15th.

First, I want to say don’t worry that it’s taking a long time. I applied in September and was accepeted in October and still haven’t heard about merit with a 1520 SAT and 3.9 UW.

Second, I think that admissions told you to send it because it’s a solid score for admissions. However, it is a low score for merit scholarships, and the admissions office doesn’t always take that into account when talking to applicants.

From what I’ve been told from Pitt counselors and others, you technically can’t switch from sending your test score to test-optional, especially if they have already received the test score. You could try to ask them to take the test score out of your kid’s file, but she’s already accepted and they’ve likely reviewed her application for merit scholarships at least once by now, so I don’t think they would be happy with you doing that.

Also, Pitt stresses that the 33 ACT or 1480 SAT are not requirements, just the usual scores for applicants that received merit. A bad test score shouldn’t take you completely out of the running for merit, but you might not get enough to lower OOS costs. Pitt doesn’t consider residency when awarding merit, so your kid would probably only get 5k per year if awarded a scholarship.

I wish I could help more but I got accepted into Dietrich arts and sciences. Keep hoping though!

Yeah no problem
Act: 33 Sat:1350 (pre-ADD diagnosis lmao)
Unweighted GPA: 3.875
Weighted GPA: 4.45
I was accepted into Dietrich under the Psychology program to start this upcoming fall.
I was born in PA and my dad went to UPJ but we have lived in NC for a decade now. Excited to be returning to my roots for school.
