@Belizeme I think the Presidential Scholarship, the 1/3 tuition award, is not limited for the finalists but also available for ones who aren’t as well. I don’t know about how its selected though.
@Belizeme yes, there are the Presidential Scholarships, as well as whatever other merit money U of R wishes to grant you that will come with your acceptance and financial aid letter (if you are accepted- which most semifinalists are. They reserve the right to not accept you but I’ve never heard of that happening).
Does anyone know how many finalists there are? My son is a Science finalist.
@northerncindy They don’t release the number, but somewhere between 100-150. They do separate them by designation, though, and I don’t know the breakdown exactly. However, its about twice the number of scholars they award for each designation.

If you are selected as a Richmond scholar, how likely are you guys to attend?
@ninadaisy i think likely, but haven’t visited yet. I might fall in love with it! What is the deal with the scholar visit in April?
My friend was awarded the Presidential Scholarship (16000$). Will the financial aid he receives be inclusive of this merit, or are they separate?
I know it is old, but the internal Richmond Scholarships replace financial aid grants (externals can replace loans).
