University of Rochester class of 2025 RD applicants

From U of R’s website:
Instead of general education or foundation requirements, our students choose a major and two clusters* that interest them, each of which falls into one of the following academic divisions:
Humanities, Social sciences, Natural sciences and engineering
Students also have the option of expanding one or both clusters into a minor or even another major. This allows our students to take ownership of their academic program within a flexible framework and study what they love.

Accepted
International student but born in US
My school doesn’t do GPA, I live in the Caribbean so we do CAPE ( which means Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exam, kinda like Caribbean A levels)
For that exam I got seven ones and a three, A one being the highest and I think a seven is the lowest.
And I did Biology, Chemistry, Physics, (units 1 and 2 for the sciences) Communication Studies and Caribbean Studies for that exam.
Ones were in the sciences and communication studies, the three was Caribbean studies
I also applied test optional and got a dean’s scholarship
Sorry this is so long!

D21 accepted:
SAT: 1380, GPA 4.5, 5 APs, Chem major. Double legacy, full pay (small alumni scholarship)

Do any of you follow URAdmissions on Instagram? The head of admissions recorded a story with the primary message: “If you did not get in, it’s ok, you’ll have a great college career somewhere else.”
Just curious.

Won’t be available for another week or so.

Not true! Most people got rejected. They just aren’t part of this small chat.

I’m sorry you weren’t accepted, sounds like you would have contributed! Best wishes for the future.

Question about scholarships for anyone who might know! I received a Meliora Alumni award worth 21k. It says it’s renewable. Does that mean it’s 5.25k/year, up to 21k, or that it’s 21k/year? I’m a little confused since I read the Alumni scholarships are usually between 5k-10k…

If you meant mentioning your major . Yes . Ours did.

I can’t see the exact language in your letter, however…
It is probably an award of 21K each year, for four years. So, 84K in all.

Mine mentioned my interest in research and my role as a Community Service Board Representative at my high school.

Hey! Chin up, no worries at all. I made this thread and got rejected in the end lol. I am an international student as well. It’s perfectly fine. I promise you life is much more than not getting into your dream uni.
