University of San Diego 2023

I also have not received a decision. This is my last college decision that I haven’t received and although I have already committed to another college, I can only imagine how stressed out myself and others would be if I was still waiting for USD if it was an option to attend. I don’t know why decisions are not posted earlier.

Breeze15 Has your daughter heard yet? I called the school at 6:30pm (EST) and the woman said that they are still reviewing applications and they are hoping to have done before or on the 1st. My daughter’s went to committee review 2 days ago as well

Still nothing. Trying to stay hopeful. Please post if you hear anything, and I’ll do the same.

Do you think they will send anything over the weekend?

Honestly, I would have been OK with an email communication from admissions stating something to effect of “…how many we’ve received, …thoroughly reviewing, …circumstances have required us to go beyond our April 1 deadline”… ANYTHING… SOMETHING…you know, trying to do the right thing. I have not run into any other schools that don’t formally communicate to their applicants about where they are in the process and what to expect.

Now this just leaves me thinking that they’re dealing with how to manage all the photoshopped athletic profiles and bounced checks for $500,000 that they have in their application pool

P.S. I’d like my application fee back

My daughters still says ready for review

I called the school yesterday - they told me they updated the website to show 04/05 as the date everyone will be notified by. She said they are stilling processing applications and are striving to be done by the 1st. She said email, portal or mail - I asked about if D’s Portal went to Committee Review on Wednesday when would she hear- said shortly. My daughter has her to hear from Syracuse as well so it’s frustrating.

Informed delivery says we have a small envelope coming from USD which is probably a rejection. Portal still says “Complete - Ready for Review.” DS has a 3.86 and a 1400 SAT. Happy to be done though!

I’m also waiting on the mailman as there is a letter coming today. This is the last college we’re waiting to hear from. My D’s portal says “Commitee Review”. So who knows.

How do you know that your letter is coming? We’re you notified?

@mg1999, with USPS you can sign up to receive daily emails that will show images of the letters coming that day, along with any packages (but no images, just name of sender).

Where are you seeing application is ready for review? I’m on the portal, and under Application Status is a blue box that says New Freshman with a green check. Is this where it should say application ready for review? Or accepted?

@4stickers Click “new info” under new freshman, should be at the top.

You need to tab the more info button under the Freshman tab

Did anyone who saw a small letter for today on informed delivery receive it today/was it a waitlist or rejection?

Letter in the mail today. Wait list.

ohh…sorry :frowning:

No letter and no change in portal. The counselor had told us a week ago that he could see the decision on his end and even asked their IT department why it wasn’t posted in the portal. Seems even their own counselors aren’t clear what it taking so long to notify kids. I guess we will all know by this Friday - which seems ridiculous.

Has anybody that has been accepted but with no merit award been able to figure out their algorithm for those awards? My D was excepted with a 4.3 GPA and a 30 ACT but no merit scholarship. One of her good friends had lesser grades and scores and got money and I’ve seen others on this site post the same. They claim they give the top 35% a merit award, seems fairly binary. Any insight is appreciated

My daughter had her portal change to committee review today. 1420 SAT 3.8 GPA
Fingers crossed!!
