University of San Diego 2023

I think it is odd that my son never rec’d an email notification, nor did the portal have a typical ‘updated notification’ leading to a letter. Wishing all the best.

I also was admitted!! Anyone know if scholarships were released yet? Or invitations to the Honors Program?

@cka4114 Congratulations! Are you IS or OOS? Wondering how they release decisions…

Admitted! Instate applicant.

Also congrats @2mrmagoo!

Out of state from Pennsylvania! Ironically, I don’t have school today due to a pretty bad snow/ice storm. The thought of being in sunny San Diego is amazing! I’m so excited! I may call to get more information about scholarships.

@cka4114 When my daughter was admitted a few years ago the scholarship information came by mail later. However, there was a scholarship calculator in the portal where you can plug in your stats to get an estimate.

Admitted!! I’m in state. Congratulations to everyone else who’s been admitted and best of luck to those waiting! I haven’t seen anything about scholarships or the Honors Program yet.

I think the email follows the portal update by a day or 2.

Great, thank you so much @portalupdateplz

Are you willing to share when your son applied and his stats?

Sure @kkmtx -OOS, 3.75, 33 ACT. oops. editing as mis-read your question. He applied within days of, if not the actual due date.

I got in! Does anyone know if they do admitted student events in cities around the country like other universities?

My son was just admitted today!!! We’re so happy for him. Now both my kiddos will be Toreros! In case people want to know admitted student stats as you are waiting for decisions to roll out… My son is in-state, 3.6 unweighted gpa and 4.05 weighted gpa with a 1440 SAT. Lots of volunteer hours in a hospital, also worked a summer job and has his sister (Sophomore) also attending USD.

I got in!! GPA W: 4.3, ACT: 34 also I’m in state applicant

There will be whats called “summer send-off” in various cities across the U.S. that you can sign up for. This event will be where a current USD student or Alumnai will host a mixer at a private residence for students and parents to connect about a month or two before school starts. There will also be Pre-O, pre-outdoor adventures opportunities the week or two prior to school starting to do fun connecting activities outdoors and getting to make friends prior to school starting. Hope that helps @CollegeAhead

I was accepted in state with a 4.58 weighted GPA and a 1500 SAT

Wow @sammycp! Nice stats! Where else did you apply? Admitted?
I am going to see if my daughter will check the portal later, she hates checking portals for some reason.
Anyone hear anything on merit and/or financial aid?

Congratulations @sammycp , @ucsbmarryme , @kh8501 and @cka4114 !
The wait is almost worse knowing the some have started to hear. USD said during their January webcast that they would begin rolling out decisions Feb 15 and would continue to do so until the end of March. This could be a VERY long 6 weeks!

@JBSeattle Thank you! I also applied to Santa Clara University, USC, SF State, Long Beach State, Cal Poly SLO, UCSB, UCSD, and UCLA. I’ve been admitted to Santa Clara University and SF State, and I’m waiting to hear back from the rest. USD is my top choice though! Best of luck to your daughter!

Edit - I haven’t seen anything about merit/financial aid. According to last year’s thread, people started hearing about merit aid the day after the first wave of decisions, so hopefully it’ll be similar this year.
