Calling all Trojans!

Hi! I am a junior in high school and i'm very interested in applying to USC. My majors are Political Science and Economy. How are the majors there, and how difficult is it to apply?

Thanks in advance!

Hey sicaabella,

There are a huge amount of majors available at USC, and you can mix and match major programs with various minors or even just take a variety of classes. There is even a program called “Renaissance Scholars” which I believe offers distinction to graduates who have achieved a 3.5 major GPA in two “unrelated” subject areas. I’m not sure that Political Science and Economics qualify as disparate enough, but that award is usually a nice feather in your cap and I think that it can even get you scholarship money for graduate studies. That may be too far in the future for you to consider, but USC has strong programs in Political Science and Economics, especially if Economics is through the Marshall School of Business. USC is also part of the Common App now, so if you are on that, you are good to go (other than a possible supplement)!
