Good luck to everyone tomorrow! Hopefully we hear something good or bad, please let us know!??
What does everyone think the likelihood of a wave is tomorrow?
@collegemom111111 unfortunately, I looked back at the Friday before Christmas last year and there was only a drip of acceptances - NO wave at all …
In my reading through of past years’ threads, they mentioned “waves” happening on the 3rd Friday of the month in Nov, Dec, Jan…so maybe we will get lucky tomorrow!
Let’s all hope we get a wave of good news tomorrow! Praying!
Should we expect it to be at 5pm again?
I’m really confused by how UT is releasing decisions. One of my friends got into Turing’s tonight
@gospursgo20 what is “Turing’s”?
@dday666666 The Computer Science Honors program
@gospursgo20 I’m wondering if they were already admitted and were notified of Honors program last night. Anyway - here’s to hoping everyone gets an early Christmas present today!
@jivey23 She got into the computer science major two weeks ago on Friday, but got Honors yesterday. It’s weird that they’re releasing on non-Fridays. I got Plan II on Monday and she got Turing on Thursday. Not really sure what their release schedule is… Hopeful for more decisions today!
Has anyone called admissions lately to see what they say about releases, if any, today?
I just called admissions and the woman that answered said that she “wasn’t aware of any releases scheduled for today” and that they are shutting down today and won’t be back until Jan. 2nd and no activity should be expected during the Christmas break.
Full disclosure–my kid got into his ED school last week so he will not be attending UT ( required to withdraw all pending apps per his ED agreement, but UT engineering was his absolute second choice and he would have been thrilled to end up there). That said, I think the way UT does these admission releases is ridiculous. Other schools manage to release all of their decisions at one time (“log in at 6 pm on this date ___ and you can find out your decision”). The fact that UT cannot manage to release its decisions in any kind of organized manner baffles me and does not inspire confidence (and I went to grad school at UT and think it is a fabulous school). When you are a school battling for top students who usually opt to go elsewhere/out of state, you would think you would make UT as appealing as possible so that you are still a contender for your top in-state students. I will never understand this, two kids later (both of whom were auto-admits who ended up going to a top 10 school out of state) .
Application Status is just an error message tonight. All other parts of portal works.
@gingytx - mine just went to an error message too … is your’s still showing error message?
looks like it will be a long 41-42 days of waiting for decision day … lol
I do not have an error message when checking my application status
mine is back to norma under review status …
I’m so over this process.
