University of Texas at Austin Class of 2023 Admissions

@Castiel19 They send an email after being offered admission. In my experience, an hour or so later. If you haven’t received a decision yet, don’t fret as UT’s process for admission is one of the most ambiguous ones out there. Receiving an acceptance earlier or later is not necessarily an indication of potential–just a matter of reviewing applications.

Forgot to add: you need an acceptance to the University first, then an acceptance to the college of your major, then the 3rd acceptance is the Plan II acceptance. The other two acceptances have to occur first. We got the Plan II one month after her acceptance letter to College of Natural Sciences.

So to clarify no one heard except Plan II tonight correct

StraightOuttaTX were you you already admitted into another major before your plan II offer?

@cnpmhnp were you admitted into another major before the plan II offer?

Hi! OOS Okie applicant, there was a girl from my school who applied (to communications) in November and was accepted immediately. I applied before her (in early October to liberal arts) and I still haven’t heard, is there any reason for that?

@hideawaypizza what branch of communications was the girl from your school admitted into?

@UTWannabe23 journalism. We have roughly the same test scores and sort of similar extra curriculars, but I have a few more strong components on my resume

@UTWannabe23 I was offered admission to Public Health in CNS along with acceptance to the university. Plan II came after.

My daughter got accepted into Plan II tonight! Breathing a sigh of relief. This had been something we had been hoping for and researching for the last 18 months. Super excited for her!

congrats @Meadow530 - was she previously accepted into another major?

so - only plan II admissions tonight - no new acceptances - maybe tomorrow?!

@Meadow530 Congratulations!! When did she apply?

Got into plan II tonight! I was accepted to the mech engineering major in December. I got an email at 7 PM tonight telling me to check MyStatus, and sure enough, my honors tab had been updated.

Is plan 2 same as honors program like that of Deans scholar? Pls clarify me what’s plan 2

has anyone gotten into BHP (OOS) yet? I had my interview back in November & acceptance into McCombs in December, but there doesn’t seem to be any information about BHP decisions.

The most annoying sentence right now: “Your application for admission is still in review.” Sorry, I know that is really not contributing to anything other than a new entry on this discussion thread which we all our glued on until our status changes. Refresh, refresh, refresh.

Plan 2 is an honors program and actual major in the liberal arts school. You can be in it and other honors programs- best to google it for better understanding but hope that helps.

@gingytx no change in status and just seeing the same sentence everyday.
Is there any specific date by which EA decisions will be released?
