University of Texas--Austin Admissions

@texasjayhawk‌ same here.

That gives me hope since I’m top 19%! AHHH!

@kgrace268, my son was also top 19% when he applied to UT. Top 16% now, but I don’t think that senior-year upgrade matters. Hoping his test scores and ECs will save him from rejection!

@texasjayhawk‌ My rank improved senior year as well but I hear that it won’t matter much. Yes I am hoping my ECs will save me as well. I go to a huge school and even though I have a 102 GPA, I am 19%. It’s crazy!

It all matters. Period!

Has anyone gotten accepted for biomed? I’m hoping to get a letter soon.

It does not matter because UT has stated they don’t look at Senior Grades.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not dual credit classes are taken into the same amount of consideration as AP classes? After my senior year I will have taken only 5 AP classes but will graduate with over 40 college credit hours. My school provides ACC classes taught by ACC professors during school - I’ve done this for four semesters now along with taking an additional 4 courses from the past two summers. I’ve taken a total of 12 dual credit classes.

I know UT takes into account the rigor of your high school coursework. However, I feel that taking only 5 AP classes is a low amount, and I would have definitely taken more AP if the dual credit classes weren’t offered at my school (like English, History, Government, etc). I really hope they look at dual credit the same way!!

@girlfromworld1 Those a good stats! My class rank isn’t great because I go to a really competitive school. I’m 59/390 with a 3.75 unweighted GPA. I got a 29 on my ACT. Not great, but not bad. My essays are good, but I only have just over 100 hours of community service. I’m in the health science program a school so I will have my CNA (nursing assistant) by the time I graduate and I have a ton of hours of shadowing in a hospital. I’m so so so worried I didn’t get in. What is your second choice? Mine is A&M which I am already accepted to.

Have any waves of non-auto/non-honors acceptances into Mccombs been sent out yet?

@bigwalk‌ I am wondering the same.

@alynicole803 Wow! The health science program and CNA will definitely be a leg up on others that are applying to nursing and your stats are pretty good!
If UT doesn’t work out, I’m probably gonna go to University of Washington (Seattle) or if UNC Chapel Hill or UMich work out, I’ll go to one of them. I regret not applying to A&M…But let’s not give up just yet!

Or are there any more to come soon?

I’m just waiting for the 20th, I’m not that worried overall though because worst case scenario I’ll just go to UT-Arlington for a year

@darktoform31 – same boat here. Unranked, no word from CNS-computer science since the application button was clicked on August 8th.

@darktoform31‌ I got in today to CS. I’m an out of state and unranked.

Congrats, InvisibleInc!! Would you mind posting your stats?

I saw one or two people on the facebook page that got accepted today. nothing from engineering still…

Cockrell is pissing me off

@girlfromworld1 I really hope so. I literally just want to know. Either way will be fine, but the waiting is about to kill me
