University of the Pacific (UOP) Housing?

Does anyone know much about UOP's housing and dorms? Pros and Cons.
How big are the rooms? Which residence hall would you suggest? How are the honors dorms? I got accepted into the Honors Program so I was thinking of going to John Ballantyne Hall.

Thanks everyone!

Congratulations.

I was interested in the Honor’s Program, but I’m just grateful enough to be accepted in to a regular program. I can’t find much about housing at all, and I’ve looked at their website and their brochures.

I think you have to pay the fees ($600) to be able to get more information on housing on the INSIDEPacific website. I don’t have the money yet, but I’m trying to get it before May 1st.

Thanks! You too!
Will you be going there next year? I already got onto the Inside Pacific website but unfortunately I haven’t found any additional information about housing.

I hope very much to go there next year.

I’m only wavering because of finances. This school is my first choice that I have been accepted to, and I want to go there more than anything.

What are you looking to major in?

what are you guys majoring in? just curious

I’m double majoring in Japanese and English (most likely secondary education.)

I’m also wondering about the dorm rooms, particularly the triple occupancies. I requested triple because its a bit cheaper than the double, but at the same time i’m worried about it being cramp and possibly restless with three people in a small area.

I requested triple as well. If it doesn’t work out, I hope I can still change my housing plan.

I just ended my freshman year at UOP and I stayed in Southwest Hall for first semester and then moved into Eiselen House second semester. I stayed in double rooms and they were adequate-sized – really depends on how you have the furniture laid out. Dimensions of a room also really depend on its location in a building (i.e. one of my floormates lived in a corner room–superr small). Southwest is a coed dorm along with Grace Covell. The Quads are same sex floors - with only 3 floors each quad. The quads are also really small - less than 100 residents each. I’ve seen the triples in Southwest and I don’t think they’re too small; again as long as you lay out the beds, desks, dressers (and possibly wardrobes) right, you shouldn’t be cramped. You can read up more here: [Facilities and Services - University of the Pacific](http://www.pacific.edu/Student-Life/Housing-and-Greek-Life/Housing/Facilities-and-Services.html) and check some Facebook groups, I’m sure there are some pictures of rooms posted.

And if you aren’t happy with your housing assignment, you can always switch - a process that is fairly simple and hassle free. Good luck!
