Hello

I have no idea how to decide between these two colleges. I got into both of their PharmD programs. Can anyone help me with deciding?

I consider all aspects including extra-curriculars and stuff.

Thanks in Advance!

USP, it’s better for pharmacy, imo.

I have never heard of USP but Northeastern’s pharm program is prestigious.

Thanks for the help! If anyone else could weigh in, that would be great!

As a current student at usp i think i can offer some help. I am a tour guide and basically what i like to tell students when they are having trouble deciding is make a pros and cons list. do you want to attend a small school with a close knit group of students or a very large school where you may have a few more opportunities. Because usp is a SCIENCE school, all the students in every major take the same courses so no one is ever left out. Where as if you go to a bigger school you may be surrounded by students who are education and communication majors and there is a potential that you may be discouraged from studying as much as you should be. the professors here are really great and they all understand how much work we have to put in for our degrees.
the perks of both programs are equal in the fact that both are 0-6 years. you do not need to take you pcats and as long as you hold up your end of the GPA bargain, you will progress smoothly.

any other specific questions? i know there is hardly any information on the internet about usp im just trying to get the facts out there.

Thanks Phillagirl, that is very informative. We were wondering aside from constant studying, is there any life at all with a PharmD program at USP? What about sports? Do USP students go to ie. UPenn or Drexel? You are right, UPS website doesn’t give alot of information, how do the students fare after graduation? Are you a local (to Philly) or do you reside on campus? What do students do for fun there (not the partying type)? About campus security? Sorry for all the questions, we are absolutely torn whether to go there, and their financial package didn’t help sway us too much.

There are a lot of organizations on campus that people get involved in. Almost everyone I know is in some sort of club, team, or organization. Each major has it’s own club. They host events on campus throughout the year, have meetings and do a number of activities that the students are interested in. While Greek Life isn’t as popular as it is at other universities, the Greeks are definitely most involved. They host events to raise money for their philanthropies throughout the year and have a lot of fun doing so. There is no football team, but basketball is big on campus. UPenn is within walking distance and Drexel is a little further. Students do have access to free transportation after 7pm between USP and Drexel. Campus security is on every corner and if there is suspicious activity all students are notified via text message within minutes.

Hope I answered some questions.
