<p>Hey, so I've gotten admission into both of the schools - for their commerce program.</p>
<p>From what I see, Queen's > UoFT when it comes to commerce.</p>
<p>95% of the grads are employed within the first 5 months, and they have an awesome 3rd year international exchange that 80% of their students participate in. They also have this: The</a> Best International Business Schools: No. 1: Queen's University - BusinessWeek - and since both their undergrad and grad classes are taught by the same professors, I believe they have a pretty good faculty.</p>
<p>However, University of Toronto has the brand name, and is a large school IN TORONTO.</p>
<p>I'm having trouble choosing between the two, any suggestions/hints/tips, etc?</p>

<p>Business program aside, the ‘campus culture’ is extremely different between them two.
Is there anything specific you are looking for out of your college experience?</p>
<p>From what I know, U of Toronto will open the doors everywhere if you are competent enough to navigate through the huge and impersonal university.</p>
<p>If you have more structured plans, like specifically working in Canada, Queen’s is sometimes considered the best business program regionally. This opens doors significantly for Finance careers in Canada, for example.</p>
<p>So, what are your future plans?
If you are unsure, then I recommend U of T for overall practical purposes.</p>
<p>I would have chosen Queen’s if I were in your place, simply because I do have specific goals that would suit studying in Queen’s better.</p>
<p>I’m looking to go into finance, specifically, investment banking.</p>
<p>From what I’ve heard, Queen’s has much better recruiting than Toronto when it comes to that.</p>
<p>In that case, I lean towards Queen’s.</p>
<p>In contrast to USA’s huge amount of universities and their ‘tiers’, Canada only has a few remarkable ones, like Mcgill, U of T and Queen’s. Considering that, IBanking recruits from the few targets that exist in Canada. </p>
<p>From what I’ve heard though, Queen’s will definitely fit your career plans. Students from the commerce program have great job placement; and the small nature of the classes at Queen’s Commerce will ensure you great opportunities in networking and participation in events, which is extremely important in the area.</p>
<p>If you have no problem with the college feeling at Queen’s, I personally suggest choosing that. But let me remind you that as an international student you will really have to stand out to get a job.</p>
<p>Edit: It just occurred to me that maybe you will not look for a job in Canada. If that’s the case, you might have to give it another look because Queen’s has little prestige outside Canada.</p>

<p>Queen’s does have good OCR, but Rotman (Toronto) doesn’t release any of its reports… so I have no idea what to compare Queen’s to.</p>
<p>Since you are Canadian, I’d say Queen’s.
Unless you really dislike Queen’s ‘small’ feeling, that’s what I recommend choosing.</p>
<p>There’s of course more Canadians at Studentawards so that should be your priority place to ask for suggestions.</p>
<p>Absolutely does not matter (I’m a canadian bus. school professor if that matters). </p>
<p>Both are great schools. Same education. Have lots of recruiters. Do great in case competitions. Interhsips etc. etc. Almost identical placement rates. Location doesn’t matter for recruitment at all either. </p>
<p>Just choose which school feels like it would suit you better in terms of student body/culture/location.</p>
<p>If you like the prospect of living in a clean mid-size city and participating in Queen’s international exchange program, then by all means go to Queen’s. If you crave multicultural hustle and bustle, a lively club scene, and many nearby job.internship opportunities, then go to U of T.</p>
<p>Otherwise, as starbright said, it really doesn’t matter.</p>
<p>Edit: Actually, the price tag is important, too, unless your parents are well off.</p>
<p>I think U of T and McGill are the best overall choices. Rotman is my top choice and I chose it over McGill, Queens, Schulich, and Ivey. Being in Toronto opens so many opportunities for internships and recruitment. Also, attending their BCom program gives you a better chance to get into their MBA program, which is undeniably the best in the county. U of T is not only one of the best schools in the country, it is one of the best in the world. Though the program is vigorous, it is worth it for it’s strong international reputation. Also, if you want to get into finance, specifically investment management, this is the place to be, as you will get hands on experience in Toronto’s stock market.
