Congrats @gogreenecoteen and @BKALLDAYHEYHEY! Make sure you go to Days on the Lawn!
Rejected after EA deferral OOS 35 ACT, 1580 SAT, 4.0 unweighted, 5.2 weighted, 14 APs, National Merit Finalist, Athletic and Academic ECs. Moving on.
Does anyone know how to sign up for Days on the Lawn?
Accepted OOS, 1540 SAT, 800 Math II, 11 AP’s, 3.9 unweighted GPA, intended engineering major.
Hey I made a results thread, can you guys post there? Also, is there a way to edit the title of a thread you created? I forgot to put class of 2021 in the title lol
@exoheat11 that happened to my son 3 years ago. He ended up at his second choice Wake Forest and is very successful! Keep your head up and move to plan B.
@exoheat11 @EK5000 same with me. Early action only to get deferred and then waitlisted… I am OOS but this is such a slap in the face…

Out of State
To all those who are out of state and had extremely extremely high test scores/grades but got waitlisted/denied, UVA relies heavily on their essays (although you probably already know this)… anyway mine were way outside the box so I think that’s why I got in. Don’t let it get you down though, after actually going through this process I’m realizing how insanely random it is.
@moneylove, in the acceptance letter, there is a link for admitted students to visit the campus. The dates for April are 3, 10, 14, 17; however, once on the calendar, the option is n/a, which makes me believe DOTL is already full. Keep in mind, these decisions have been coming since November '16, so a lot of admitted students got an early start to sign up.
@exoheat11 @EK5000 @sciencegirl20 Don’t fret and stay positive! My D is OOS admitted but also got into U of Mich-Ann Arbor IS; due to costs over 4.5-6 yrs., she most likely will not attend UVa. After grad debt is a weighted factor in her decision. Best of Luck to all!
@Quintpgroup Thank you! That really sucks if that’s the case, though. Seems odd that all people who applied regular would not be able to go to DOTL.
Deferred then waitlisted

@moneylove Totally agree! The website does say, “…DOTL fills quickly…”. I don’t see the ability to register for the DOTL as it is no longer on the calendar? Whatever. I will do another visit/tour mid-April and hit the Lawn myself!

@moneylove @Quintpgroup https://admission.virginia.edu/admitted-student if you click on the days on the lawn tab, it says that they’ll be sending an invitation for days in the lawn via email… it also says “in a few weeks” but the site must’ve been put up a little while ago.

How many kids are typically on a UVa waitlist?
@Quintpgroup @EK5000 @sciencegirl20 Yeah and I am in-state too, from NoVA. How many kids do they defer then waitlist??? From in-state?? I mean with a 40% acceptance rate in-state and with my stats (posted in a chance me thread if you want to look at that) I would’ve expected that they’d take me in the 2nd round.
