***University of Virginia RD Class of 2021 Discussion Thread***

@charlotte44 I hope that is what it means.

When does everyone think decisions will be posted

@collegegirl33 I think they usually come out on a Friday, right? I wouldn’t expect it to be tomorrow (though that’d be amazing), but I’d imagine it’d be the 24th over the 31st.

I believe this year’s EA applicant group was larger than it’s ever been, and the decision date was pretty much on time with past years’. It probably doesn’t mean that the RD number was reduced enough to have an earlier release, but I’d expect it to be just about where last year was.

Only two pages for UVA RD. Wow, it looks as if most applicants applied ED.

A lot did apply EA, but it might just be because we don’t have anything to discuss yet.

How hard is it to get into UVa as an OOS/ International Applicant?

i am super nervous and i am an instate applicant

The OOS acceptance rate has gotten lower and lower in the past couple of years, but don’t get discouraged. Stay positive and wait for the results to come out!!

around 22% oos

Is Virginia coming out this Friday?

They don’t officially say when, if you follow Dean J on twitter (or any social media) and keep up with the blog she gives us the latest updates. In recent years she has posted in the afternoon that admissions decisions will be released later in the day and while that has often been on a Friday it’s not a guarantee or anything

Today my daughter was looking on SIS and on the home page on the right side there is a column that says “Newly Admitted Students” and under that “Financial Aid information” and “Next steps for newly admitted students.” Does everyone else have that on their portal too?

nymom5 - I do not see anything like that in my portal. I am an OOS applicant. I even don’t see a ‘advisor’ on my profile. I am getting nervous now. I have good stats like 1550/1600 SAT and 40/42 IB grades. But, with a rejection from Northwestern recently making me concerned about admission here. Good luck for your daughter, seems like what she noticed on the site is a good sign.

i also don’t see that on the homepage

It may be a good sign, but it most likely isnt. Dean J stressed to the EA thread that they dont input any data regardin admission until they are ready to release decisions.

bioed- my daughter was also rejected from northwestern. the acceptance rates for regular decision there were incredibly low. have some hope! the college process is so predictable!!

I’m just staying hopeful that decisions will be released by the end of this week and avoiding jumping to any conclusions based off of what is available on the SIS page. The Boston University thread was a mess of theories, so much unnecessary stress all over the place!

@nymom5 That isn’t on the portal that info is when you first get on the SIS website right before you log in. Anyone can see it. So I don’t think that means anything for individual students.

guys–speculating about things that show up/don’t show up on the sis page won’t make decisions come out any faster! every time that people worry and fuss over a “sign,” everyone ends up more stressed and worried (read: bu and nyu threads).

april 1st is less than 2 weeks away–we’ve waited this long : )
