UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON AUTUMN 2019 TRANSFER

@UW2019tRASFER Have you signed up for orientation yet? Which date? I’m sure we will meet soon!

Also, I just came back from my visit to campus. I met with an advisor and they told me they only accepted 150 out of state transfer students this year! So congrats to all of the out of state transfers that got in! I got accepted last monday and received my gold package in the mail today! Super excited!!! Cant wait!

Only 150?? Whaaatt?? That makes me feel good about myself lol ?

150 out of state transfer students? shoot, now that makes me really worried

I just got my rejection email. Going to appeal

i feel like it’s only 150 applicants for one of the departments… I looked at the common data sets for past years and they accept around 1,000 transfer applicants

@lizzzzzz, while it’s true that they accepted approx 1900 transfer applicants in 2018, 85% of those were WA state CC transfer students. Given the high preference for in state transfers, 150 out of state seems like about the right number.

@sylviermoone oh man

But hey, at least we’ve got this snazzy new forum layout!!

i’ve been told by admissions that all decisions have been completed so why cant they just update our portal ughhh

I’ve had my appeal letter, updated transcript, and letter of recommendation all printed out and waiting in a folder on my desk at home for the last week and a half. All I need is the email . This is so incredibly disheartening. Lol.

Omg, really, @ee9999??? Ugh, this is so stressfull!!!

@kimetsunoyaiba: you do not have to wait for a rejection to submit your appeal. From the UW website:
“When do I appeal?
You may submit your written appeal at any time during the application processing period of the quarter for which you are seeking admission. You don’t need to wait until you receive notification that you have been denied. If you have received a deny email, we prefer that your appeal be submitted within two weeks of receiving the denial.”

Hope that helps!

I was rejected :slightly_frowning_face: . Nontraditional, out of state transfer. 3.6 GPA transferring from an accredited engineering uni. Junior status at my previous university. Very saddening. Congrats to all that were accepted. Since I am at a junior status, a community college isn’t very helpful for me either. There could be a class or two maybe?.. that I could take to keep the wheels rolling before applying again… Kind of crappy to wait so long and then receive a denial.

Aww, @gNelly, I’m so sorry to hear that. I wish you the best of luck!

I am actually going crazy. Applying for Aquatic and fishery sciences and still nothing. Just called admissions and they are still sending out decisions.

@fishgrl: I might be refreshing my unofficial transcript about every 30 seconds and checking my email just as frequently…

@gNelly damn I’m sorry to hear that. Can you see the denial in the portal? Or only through email?

@sylviermoone , did you receive a decision yet? As a denied applicant, my unofficial transcript never loaded and when I checked the “view your transfer application status,” a different message finally loaded (this time saying they are unable to offer me admission). This message loaded for me this morning at 7:30 AM PST 06/25. A couple hours later, I received an official email stating that I had been denied admission (no reason included). Best of luck to those awaiting a decision! It definitely shocked me to receive a denial so late in the game and it does hurt. They almost had my hopes up…

checks all the places @gNelly, I still have not received a decision. My unofficial transcript doesn’t load, my admission decision page still says “we will notify you blahnik blah”, I can’t confirm enrollment on the special page, and I haven’t received an email.
I’m so sorry you didn’t get in. I was rejected when I applied for winter quarter (hadn’t finished the math CADR), and I know how much that email sucks. :disappointed: I hope you can find a plan b!!

No update for me yet :frowning: I’ve taken statistics but not precalc or calc so I’m wondering if they’ll reject me for that
