UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON AUTUMN 2019 TRANSFER

Nothing yet…my sister got in as a transfer for fall 2017 from an out of state 4 year school and she did not find out until the beginning of June. I will be a WA CC transfer and thought it said June + July for transfers this year, but checked and it definitely says May + June. I have an extension from other schools to let them know later and pay later than May 1, so that’s good, but some are already starting with registration ugh. Good luck everyone!

Any news for business transfer students? Hopefully they come out soon!

Admissions said they will be releasing May & June. There is no deposit deadline date just before your orientation.

My friend heard back from UW on May 5th and got into Foster May 10th. She was a California community college transfer and put a deposit down for two schools for safety just in case she didn’t get into UW.

Its actually very common to put deposits down, as long as you dont turn in your final paperwork/ official transcripts & dont got to orientation for those schools than you’re not locked into it and can still go to UW. Just tell those other schools you are withdrawing your application. (they will automatically drop you anyway if you dont turn in your paperwork/officail transcripts)

I applied to transfer to the Education program at UW. Is anyone else also Education? I didn’t know that Foster releases early. Hoping to hear soon!

Is it appropriate to email admissions offices for an estimate on admissions dates…? I would rather not pay deposits for other schools, and I know some other transfers have been granted extensions for submitting SIRs to other schools they’ve gotten into already.

@Roomba6576 I am an Education major as well! I noticed when I was recently looking at the UW School of Education website that it says decisions will be made May 15th. Hopefully that date applies to transfers as well and we will hear from admissions either same time or before?

Good luck!!

Guys I have a question. If someone knows about it, please answer me!
If I get rejection email from Foster, what would happen to UW general admission??
Im assuming Foster decision comes out earlier than UW general admission

I believe the applications are considered separately so you can still get general admission even if you are rejected from foster

Hi guys,
I also applied to transfer from a wa cc with intend to major in education. I had a question though, is anyone else planning to apply for on campus housing? I was hoping to live in a dorm and get higher priority (to register first), but we can’t apply until/ unless we are actually admitted, right?

@sammysammy21 to all business transfer students, the decisions will be coming out on May 10th after 5 pm (just spoke with an admissions officer) has any of your official transcripts loaded? thanks!

@wiltonsutardi hello! Decision to the business major will be coming out or to UW itself?

@georgieboy this is the business school’s decision. The officer said that the UW Seattle decisions might come earlier or even the same day. Has your unofficial transcript loaded?

@wiltonsutardi ah okay thank you for the info! And nope my unofficial transcript has not loaded.

5/10!! Omg that makes me very nervous lol I hope I can get the general admission first, so I would be less frustrated even if I get rejected from Foster hahah

@wiltonsutardi thank you so much for the update! GUYS IM SO NERVOUS ?

yeah and I don’t think the unofficial transcript trick works for this year, haven’t seen anyone’s transcripts load for this past week!

@Holahihello i’m planning to apply for on-campus housing too! You’re right, we can only register after we’re admitted. According to the website transfer students can begin applying for housing May 9 for top priority. I hope we get notified before then so we don’t lose out on spots )-:

Did anyone receive an email from UW’s Office of Student Financial Aid after filing their FAFSA? I just recieved an email that they recieved my application for financial aid (I submitted it quite late). It vaguely states that if I’m a newly admitted student, they will review the application, or if I’m waiting for an offer of admission, they will email me after I’ve been admitted.

@LeonorC I received an email! But it was in January when I got it.

@beatrees Probably a general email then for those who submitted their FAFSA. ?
By the way I think Business majors were also among the first to be notified last year. Any English/Comp Lit majors here?

Hi, guys. Does anyone apply for UW Bothell? My unofficial transcript loaded today and I guess I got into UWB!
I applied for environmental science but I was accepted to biology major.
Admissions asked me whether I would like to be considered for biology since I couldn’t fulfill prerequisite classes required. (but I fulfill prerequisites for UWS)
But my dream school is still UWS!
I think decision notifications will be informed next month like last year :frowning:
