how good a chance do i have to get into uw or wwu???
any input would help thanks.

Additional Details

you can only do one club each year at my school because they all meet at the same time

western pretty much sucks

If you are in state, then you pretty much are guaranteed amdission to UW with your gpa.

why does western suck? everyone that i know that went there really liked it...

Well, lots of kids like it, but I mean't more in terms of UW. Going to western would be a very bad choice I believe if you got into UW.

UW certainly is a good school. It's big... and in Seattle... which isn't the same as Bellingham (but you already know that, am I right?) -- but if you're OK with that, and if you get into the UW, then it's a better choice as far as your education and prestige go than Western.

Your scores fit into the mid 50% range for UW -- which is as follows:
verbal (=CR): 530-650; M: 580-670 -- and they admit 2/3 of applicants. As long as your transcript isn't full of "filler" classes (TA, PE, pottery, office aide...), and your essays are OK, you should be able to get in. :)

What kind of high school do you go to? That also makes a difference.

... And I am assuming you're in-state.

i go to a public school around 250 in my class... 1000 in the school

why does ta and pe etc lower my chances?
i have about 3 ta classes so far and my needed 3 pe classes
also photography and art classes... does that matter?

any help???

anniushka is saying that a rigorous course load is important. you should have about 4 years of english, 4 years of math, 3-4 years of science, 3-4 years of history/social studies, 2-4 years of foreign language, 1 year of fine arts. fulfilling graduation requirements of pe and all of that is fine but colleges like to see academic electives. ap/honors classes are also good.

i have 4 years of english, 5 years of math counting 8th grade algebra, 3 years of science, 3 years of history, 2 years of foreign language around 2 years of fine arts. im taking 2 ap classes right now and i have taken 1 honors in the past. hopefully thats good enough
