One of the prompts for the personal statement for UW is:
Tell a story from your life, describing an experience that either demonstrates your character or helped to shape it.
Can the experience be something I’ve had over a long period of time? Does it have to be a short experience?
It can be a long or short experience.

The word “experience” does not imply anything in terms of time span.
The word “story” however, implies very descriptive so that the reader feels like they are experiencing it themselves.
Be creative and have fun telling your story, no matter whether it spanned a short or long period of time. Good luck!
