University of Washington (why does nobody talk about it?)

<p>I've heard that the UW is generally focused on in-staters, but I'm sure there are plenty of talented Washingtonians here on CC. How do you think the UW stacks up prestige-wise? In medical fields, of course, it's outstanding, but ARWU ranks it above Dartmouth in Business/Economics, and it generally tends to appear in T25 or so lists (but, interestingly, not USNews.)</p>

<p>Plenty of people talk about it up here in AK. It’s a top out-of-state pick for those who can afford it.</p>

<p>Udub may have a low national profile because they offer wretched scholarships for OOS students, keeping it a primarily in-state establishment. That’s a shame, because it is one of the most well-rounded universities in the country.</p>
