Hi, I was wondering what my chances are to get into the University of Wisconsin School of Engineering.
I’m currently a Junior right now (2017)
GPA: 4.27 Weighted (3.71 Unweighted)
ACT: 33
SAT: Not taken it yet (do I need to?)
AP/Honors: Taken mostly honors and AP when possible (when I graduate, I will have 8)
EC: Members of a few clubs but I’m dedicated (Model UN, Student gov’t, STEM Club)
Over 100 hr. in volunteering
If no, is there anything to make my future application look better?
P.S. I live near Chicago (out of state), if that makes a difference.
When you apply to UW Madison they admit you based on your scores to the entire school, so it’s not just based on your major like some other schools. Your GPA is average and your ACT is well above average for this school, so I’d say you have a great chance. You don’t need to take the SAT, they accept either one. Good luck!
SAT probably isn’t necessary.
It sounds like you have a great shot with your current standing. Just make sure to get a good recommendation and have an English teacher or two review your essays when it comes time for that. But otherwise, it sounds like you’re fine.
You’ll get in. If you don’t, I’ll be so surprised that I won’t eat tacos for three days.
You’ll get in.
