As far as an elementary education major goes, I know both have excellent programs. However, I was curious as to any other insight anyone might have to offer about social life, atmosphere, average student, academics in general, or of course the programs.

UW is more academic and national in focus. Better town too.

I’m not in the School of Ed, but it has a reputation for being quite competitive across the entire student body. I’ve taken a few Ed Psych/Ed Policy classes at UW - I believe Ed majors are required to take a few classes in each of those departments. I’ve really enjoyed them, and the professors have been particularly good.

There is no way we can tell you what your experience would be like at UW as there are as many different experiences as there are students. You need to visit the campus during the academic year to see how things are. You can see the campuses this summer for the physical layouts and some features/atmosphere.

I have visited the campus, thanks.
