unofficial dress code

So what kind of clothes do most UCLA students wear? I assume that its casual...but trendy and chic too( like the olsen twins)? or do students just throw on a pair of jeans and a sweater or roll right out of bed in their sweats/pjs to go to class?

It varies. Some people just throw on a pair of athletic shorts and a t-shirt (like me today haha) and some people get more trendy.

Just don't wear cardinal and gold.

lol flopsy has a good point (at least don't wear such colors to sports events)

but seriously, just wear whatever you usually wear. It's pointless to try to conform to everyone else. I'm almost always in flip-flops, shorts and a surf/skate related t-shirt. Other people have their own styles... whatever

On the campus tour I took early in the year, I was just glad to not have to see way too much of girls' bodies. But, I am a girl. Please tell me that wasn't a fluke.

it's a good thing to see lots of skin. mini skirts and tanktops rule

youre only young THESE years for so long. no1 wants 60 year olds wearing these types of clothing

I can appreciate a decent in body in the clothes mentioned above, but it isn't so pretty when pounds of flesh are hanging out(and not just in your favorite areas, whichever those might be.) If the clothes at least fit, it's fine. It's when they don't it gets ugly.

yea i'd like to echo that it varies. just wear whatever you're comfortable with. there's no typical ucla student!

haha, dude...its college, and UCLA at that. with 35,000 students, its virtually impossible to conform (and rather stupid, if you ask me). just wear whatever the heck you want to, as long as you aren't strutting around campus in your birthday suit

if you're a girl and you've got the body, wear a mini skirt and tight top........ is what I say. The sluttier, the better!

"just wear whatever the heck you want to, as long as you aren't strutting around campus in your birthday suit"

Dang, and that was just what I was planning on wearing. :)

^ hey whatever floats your boat ;)

"there's no typical ucla student!"

Haha damn right! The only common denominator is an appetite for excellence!

I could have sworn I saw that somewhere on Bruin Walk recently...

But seriously wear what you want. This isn't high school anymore.

Actually, that slogan is posted on the north side of the newspaper kiosk in the Court of Sciences, right between Franz Hall and the Math Sciences Building.

Hmm, yeah, my classes aren't around there but I probably remember it from the tour a few weeks back.
