I have had this idea for a long time but it's not original at all. It is the essay prompt that deals with failure and how you responded to it. I play soccer so I thought that would be something I can write about. I was starting to lose interest in soccer because new interests really took over my life. So the lack of preparation made me lose my starting spot on the roster. This really killed me and this fueled me to get back on the horse and work until I had reached where I previously was a year ago. This also reinvigorated my passion about soccer. I went beyond reaching my goal to be in the starting 11. I worked till I became a great player. That is pretty much it. In the essay I will explain the story and show what I learned through the failure and how I grew as a person. My only doubt is if this is a good essay idea. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

It’s all about how you write it. If you write it well, it’s a great topic. If it turns out to be a bad essay - then yes, it is a bad idea.

I think this kind of story is going to be a very common theme, but it isn’t a bad one. Make sure you are giving some positive insight of what kind of person you have and what kind of values you have. Sounds like this can show your commitment and hard work, and the journey to discover what is important to you and follow through on it.
