Gosh I must be doing something wrong because I’ve never lost sleep over my kids’ college applications/choices! Good luck and be grateful.
Sounds like a wonderful choice for him!
@Marian Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!!! YES and YES, I have definitely come to terms with empty nest syndrome being a part of what I’m feeling My husband definitely doesn’t share the same sentiment (haha!), he was surprised at his choice, but is really excited. I need to get my own feelings sorted out, clearly. I can remember thinking to myself “oh it will be so great when they can drive themselves to practice or school”. Now, on one hand I want to reverse time and have them all three at home again, but on the other hand I’m ready to run around the house naked and take spontaneous couples vacations with my husband! I teased him this morning that I was looking at opening a practice in California and his jaw dropped and he said “Mom, you’re not serious are you? You do want to be free like most parent’s, right?”…lol…Good ole’ Mr. “Old Soul” My head and heart are both excited for him and for the new chapter in our lives at home, as well. I’m going to go start planning that vacation…
@SouthFloridaMom9 Thank you, I am feeling more confident now!
@AMomslife , I don’t have anything to add but wanted to say…you seem like an absolutely delightful person. I envy your friends!
@gmfl71 Why thank you! That was very kind! I do have a little bit of a mean streak from time to time (I"m originally from the South)…lol…but living in Hawaii for 15 years must have loaded me with Aloha!! I do appreciate the sweet comment because I’ve felt like a raving lunatic the last seven months for this last kiddos application cycle!
