I’m not sure if I want a career in business or law, so I’m deciding between Carrol or just Arts and Sciences, what should I do? Do they let you change later on after acceptance or not? Because I’m going to submit the common app supplement soon and I need help. Thanks!

It is very hard to transfer into CSOM from A&S, as they take only a few each year. However, it is easy to transfer into A&S from CSOM. So if you think you are leaning towards a business major, you should apply to CSOM now.

Thanks for the tip! I’m not really sure what I want to lean towards but I know a lot of lawyers can have majors not directly related to law, so I think I’ll put down CSOM.

Be careful applying to CSOM, however, if you don’t have ‘business’-related ECs. For example, someone who has been a leader in Model UN or in an Intel semi-finalist probably looks more like a potential A&S major to CSOM adcoms. OTOH, if you have relevant work experience…

And yes, Law Schools do not care about undergrad major; just gpa + lsat.

Yep well I have two years of IB Business and participated in DECA competitions. (state finalist last year this year state garuanteed for paper, hopefully nationals!) Plus I run a tennis racket stringing business from home.

Really? I was accepted into CSOM last year. No business-related ECs whatsoever, though in my essay, I did express an interest in finance.

Grades are far more important… Though if your heart is set upon business, by all means, go for CSOM. You can transfer into A&S later.
