Hello – I applied to Boston College early action to the College of Arts & Sciences. I plan on attending law school, and as you probably know, I can basically major in anything I’d like. Math, english, philosophy, etc majors tend to do better on the LSAT but I’m also very interested in marketing/business. At the time I applied, I decided since I was ultimately undecided, that I’d be better off applying to the arts & sciences school because I’d have more options. But after some careful consideration, I really think I’d rather study marketing and business because I find it interesting and I’d have more career options should I decide not to pursue law. I already emailed BC admissions, but I was wondering if any of you had any insight on my options. Could I switch from College of Arts & Sciences to the Carroll School of Management before I enroll? If I were to get deferred to the regular admission pool, could I switch the school I applied to on my application? Or do I have to wait to see if I can do an internal transfer sophomore year. Thanks for any insight you could give me!
This has come up on numerous threads. It’s essentially impossible to transfer into CSOM. You can still take up to 8 courses in CSOM so you can get a thorough grounding in marketing while taking a couple of more business classes. I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. You’ll still get a fine education. Just take a good LSAT prep class
