Do colleges look at unweighted GPA more or weighted?
because i have good weighted but pretty average unweighted.. but that's because my courseload is pretty difficult.

and how much emphasis do they put on AP scores? i heard from certain people colleges dont even get to see the AP scores until you've been admitted.. true?

oh and on collegeboard's website, for college profiles there's the "GPA" section.. are the stats there on weighted or unweighted gpa??

thanks a bunch!

unweighted and courseload.

Weighted has no meaning without context, and that is why courseload matters most.

Colleges cannot see ap scores unless you send them. most schools will never consider ap scores when it comes to admission.

Ide assume CB goes by unweighted. Just check. If the scale goes up to 4.0, it's uw. if it goes higher, than i is weighted.

Also test scores often say alot in measuring the validity of your grades. Think of weighted being a quick glance number. If they are just checking quickly they will see it. But what they really want to know is how hard your classes were. That's why test scores, as well as class rank are important, because they help show the AdCom what your grades mean in context of your school, and thus help them analyze how difficult they think your work was.

Difficulty of different high schools can vary tremendously and that is why they don't look at weighted really. Because one student with a 3.7uw 4.5w could be attending a relatively easy school, whereas if he attended a good school he could be getting a 3.4uw 4.0w or something like that.

Hopefully they look at quality of HS, how hard of courses you've taken, and UW GPA.

They only see AP scores if you submit them. And you'd have to had taken them in your junior year for colleges to consider them during admissions (even then I hear they aren't weighted heavily).
