UOP Legal Scholars program

I posted this to some random forum, but didn't get any replies, so am trying again:

Still waiting for three more decisions to arrive, but I've been accepted to University of the Pacific, and into the Honors program. Major will be Mechanical Engineering, and with the 70 community college units I'll have when I graduate from hs in June, think I can get the BS and MS in three years, which is one of the main reasons UOP is looking so attractive to me.
But now they've thrown a curve ball at me with an invitation to interview for the Legal Scholars program. Hadn't reallly considered law school before, and was a little confused about why they'd think there's a connection between engineering and law, but my dad was just excused from Jury Duty BECAUSE he's an engineer. There's no obligation to pursue law, but this Legal Scholars program has me intrigued. Has anybody interviewed for it? If so, what kind of questions did they ask? Did you actually go through the program? What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

I got an invitation also, and like you I am an engineering major. Very confused but also entrigued. I’m assuming you also got Regents Scholarship or something alike? I don’t think I’m going to apply just because I already got a scholarship and it’s irrelevant to my major

Thanks for the reply, ramof2012. Yes, I got the Regents Scholarship too. What are the odds that you’ll go to Pacific? I’m going to interview for the Legal Scholars thing on Monday and will overnight on campus, sit in on a couple of classes, try to find out about the strength of the robotics and biomedical eng. programs, which are my main interests, and find out how many of my community college units they’ll accept. I like the 7-month paid internship requirement, and the one-year Masters option. Will post results of my “fact finding mission.”

Hi EricPTK, I have been accepted to Pacific and I was also invited to interview for the Legal Scholars Program. I’m very seriously considering it, as I am planning on going to law school after getting my bachelor’s. I’m planning on flying down to visit sometime soon and I was wondering what you can tell me about the interview process, as well as the campus and the school itself. Did you end up choosing Pacific? If so, what do you like about it? What don’t you like?
