It’s certainly not shorts and t-shirt kind of weather but it’s better than January/February. It’ll still be cold to someone from the South.
Put it this way, the first day of the year you’ll be wearing shorts and t-shirt will probably be in April, and it’ll take until mid/late-May before you could do that day after day.
okay thanks guys. I’m from CT so the weather may be more tolerable for me than for people from the south.
Mid March can be anywhere between 30s and 50s during the day. We actually choose one of the latest date for Campus Day even we live in town.
@Vladenschlutte It definitely had more than 3 times go below 0F in the last nine years. There are probably even more than 3 days with windchill below -20F that Ann Arbor Public School closed in the last 9 years.
Even just for January, there were 4 years within the last 9 years with lowest temperature below 0 and it is likely to have multiple days within those year with sub zero temperature. For February, 5 of the past 9 years went below 0.

Does it honestly matter that much if it’s 10 below zero or just zero? It’s freakin’ cold!
It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity. :-/
I haven’t lived in Ann Arbor since Dec 2013, so from 2005-2013. Possibly a few more times than that but it’s certainly rare.
Just counting Jan-Feb, it happened in 03, 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, 11, 13, 14, and 15. Only 3 out past 12 years did no go below 0. It is more like a norm.
