If I faxed an update of my application to them NOT during normal business hours (I did it late at night), will they get it?
Thanks.

It should have been waiting on the fax machine when they arrived in the morning. (Timezones being what they are, "normal business hours" for some of us are "after dinner at home already" hours for others. :) )

But if you just faxed an update in the last few days, it's not likely to have been added to your file, since the Committee has already been in selection for ten days now.

Nah, they'll add it to your file.
I just mailed few supplements and they added it.

and mootmom, thanks: ) I'm in the same time zone as MIT though

okay I replied you post in another thread,..how did you know they added it? I never got a confirmation so does that mean they didn't add mine to my file?

Call admissions. They'll check your file and tell you. That's what I did. :)

I mailed in updates twice, as a deferred applicant. I guess the first time around it got lost, so I sent it all again over two weeks ago. It was never reflected on my My MIT tracking page. I sent it priority mail the second time around with delivery confirmation so I'm positive it at least arrived there.

I called several days ago and the person I spoke with said she could only look at a reflection of my tracking page. I was put off balance, since I always thought if you called in they could actually check your file.

Nevertheless, I kept checking my tracking page until it was all taken down, but my Mid-Year Report was never checked off. I'm worried because I mailed my mid-year report in with all my updates both times, and I really feel like my application needed these things. Should I have my counselor fax my mid year report again and then fax in my updates again too, or is it hopeless at this point?

"to respond to the questions about midyear grades, please don't worry. If we felt we needed to see midyear grades in order to make a decision, and they weren't in your file, we'd contact your school directly to get them."

echeme, the reason that your folder couldn't be physically checked a few days ago was that each reader actually takes your folder and has it in his/her possession during reading. To physically check your folder, the person on the phone would need to know which admissions officer was reading your folder.
