So, I didn’t have any major awards while I was applying. However, today, I received the news of a major award, which I feel will be an important addition to my application.
My question is: is it too late to send updates? Will it affect my chances, or are decisions finalized by now anyways?
And if I should send it, how should I? Through Email?
Please note that my question applies to other colleges to which I am applying, so if there is a method specific for Harvard for sending updates, please mention that so that I can search for how to deal with other universities.
As per Harvard’s instructions, you should update Admissions through the portal. As it is getting near decision time though, I would also send them a FAX, as paper spewing out of a fax machine demands immediate attention, whereas who knows how long it will take for them to notice the portal update. Harvard Admissions FAX number: 617-495-8821. For other schools, you should follow the institutional instructions.
In years past, the full committee meetings have taken place over a three week period from about March 1st to March 21st, so it’s not too late. Best of luck to you!
