Updates

I thought we could post what we know about admissions so far here! Smith sent out some activity guides, although I'm not positive whether they made it to international applicants yet or not. This is what my letter says:

February 28th, 2008

It's been a few months since you heard the good news about your Early Decision acceptance to Smith and it may seem like a long time before you'll receive your first-year packet in April. With that in mind, I thought you'd like to know how the class of 2012 is shaping up.

In December, we admitted 109 women under the Fall Early Decision Plan and in January we admitted 56 under the Winter Early Decision Plan so the class of 2012 already has 165 members. We look forward to a busy winter reading lots of applications from your friends and peers. Your class will enter in September with approximately 640 students.

I am enclosing our activities brochure. As the text implies and the pictures illustrate, you'll find lots to keep you busy while at Smith.

All good wishes for the remainder of your senior year,

Sincerely,
Etc..

~~~
So, there are some numbers for everyone. I'm not sure how helpful this is, but I know that everyone who's anxious (like I was when I was waiting!) will want as much info as possible. There are housing forms available on BannerWeb for ED acceptances, so if anyone has questions about that or anything, I'd be happy to say what very little I know. ;)
Good luck, everyone! All the people I've talked to that were admitted seem awesome, so when and if you get accepted you'll have a diverse, fun group of girls in your class.
Ooo thank you for posting this!
Can I make an IMPASSIONED PLEA that you all post your housing questions into a SINGLE thread, and that you do not post them on websites like the daily Jolt. It gets really, really tiresome reading 50 threads all asking "What can you tell me about Northrop?" "what can you tell me about King/Scales?"
Please, I beg you.
Eew, yeah. That has to be annoying. The only ones I've seen so far are on the Facebook group, and a current Smithie made a topic for us to ask whatever housing questions we have. That and the articles from the Sophian on some houses have been really helpful. :)
Now I'm going to have to look at The Jolt and see what people are saying...
They won't say too much now, but right around when the housing annoucements go out, the incoming first years descend en masse with the same questions.
But room draw starts in a couple of weeks, and that means that the upperclasses are going to start in. ugh.
omg S&P, I can relate... :) Especially hearing about incoming first years while I was still trying to finish out MY first year...it's like they're catching up on you!
