updating grades for UC Applicants

I seriously doubt it...

tho it will hurt you if you miss the DL.

Some of us are still waiting for OFFICIAL grades.

Thanks for the reply suzzieq. So since I completed only 2 years of high school language, I leave the box unchecked and don't fill anything out under the foreign language requirement? everything would be blank then.

Maybe you put in the high school classes?

I thought about that but it says "College where taken" so I didn't. Also, my school didn't have 3 unit classes. They were 5 unit but it was still semester.

chunkphat:

Yeah, I think it would be safest to report stuff that pertains to you. Don't think too much about it =)

I just called Berkeley they said the same thing you did. "Fill in 2 years of high school and they'll know". Thanks. One last question. When you fill each of the 3 steps out is there a submit or does it just save?

What do you do for the science class with a lab? How do you list both of those (the class and its lab)? Do you just put them side by side--like under credits for example: 3,1...?

Chunkphat, I spoke with a Berkeley counselor on friday and they are aware of the typo on the update form. I only completed two years in hs, but she told me to check the box and explain the typo/situation in the space given. That's what I did.

In the Step One part of the update form,

am I suppose to list all the schools I have attended or just the ones I will be attending in the spring?

for planned courses... if you enter a class for summer 2006 that does not have to do with IGETC and the 60 unit requirement.... is it bad if you end up not taking it?

no i dont think so

Fourstar, I did bring up the fact that it could be a typo with the admissions advisor. She said that this was for people fulfilling the requirements with L&S. Now that I think about it that didn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm going to check the box and do what you did.

I plan not to take any courses in the Summer of 2006. Does that count as a gap in my education? If so, the UC wants an explanation, but I just typed "not applicable" in the comment box. Is that how I'm supposed to do it?

I dont think it is a gap (in fact, i dont believe it will affect your admissions in any significant way...) but you should give more info...like what are you going to do in summer (maybe internship or something related to major? just dont write: im not doing anything or staying at home ...and the sort...) ..i think it is more of an opportunity to show your personal character and ambitions more than anything.

Anyhoo, does someone know the deadlines for the CAL WIP and Gen. Breadth forms??? Is it going to be 2/15 too?

yes it will be due on 2/15

i also had question regarding the lab thing b/c my course was a science with lab but it was individualy graded, i just noted that in the comments box saying that xyz class has a lab and grade recieved was so and so.

what did others do?

what is the CAL WIP?

crap.. its work in progress isnt it. thanks

I have a question regarding UC/Berkeley Update form.

After I selected "IGETC" as the Course Breadth Requirement Complete, I have to put down the courses I have taken to fulfill the IGETC requirement. However, Four of the courses were given AP Credits (English Language and Composition, Biology, U.S. History, Government & Politics) so I did not have to take courses on it.

My question is, where do I write down my AP credits in the update form? The best thing I could do was writing it in the "Additional Comment" box. Is this the right way to do it?
