@smashhighschool it should right on the portal when you log in above the spot where you accepted your spot.
I can’t find it @Penn1248
@smashhighschool did you accept your spot on the form? If you did and it’s still not there I would contact Penn
@acardenas Don’t lose hope. I got admitted to Penn and I was shocked since i need so much aid. Im an international. Good luck
Has anyone on the waitlist visited Penn to express their continued interest, or is that not advised? Also, when Penn asks for waitlisted applicants to upload a “comprehensive document,” what exactly are they looking for?
@northstarfx I visited before but not since being put on the waitlist. I just wrote a letter stating I was still interested and attached new grades
i called them if i could come in and express CI (lol) and the person seemed very exasperated and said that “there was that option, but it was advised against”. -_- i guess they already have a good ranking of who they’d want off the waitlist then
@Marcelleparcelle, Penn doesn’t rank the waitlist according to the FAQ’s linked to the waitlist portal. I really think they look at the new materials presented and those who express sincere interest (i.e. “I will definitely attend if accepted”) have a much higher chance of potential acceptance.
@northstarfx how many new materials do people usually add… I had like 4 non amazing things
@Marcelleparcelle I think there are plenty of options, depending on what your major is, but some items would be: personal appeal letter (confirming why Penn is #1), new recommendation letter, new awards/achievements, new essay, new research reports (if applicable).
Guys, I know someone who got off the waitlist a few weeks ago. No joke. She is international like me
@confusedsenior28 did they have any proof or anything? It’s really strange for them to go off the waitlist before May 1st.
Well I just kept my letter up to a page. don’t think it can compete with people who add extra rec letters and essays… Were we supposed make the update short? Or did i screw my chances? :(.
Okay so it says on the FAQ section that the waiting list in unranked. But on the common data set, it says the waiting list is ranked. http://www.upenn.edu/ir/Common%20Data%20Set/UPenn%20Common%20Data%20Set%202015-16.pdf Being WLd is just frustrating.
@gibby Can you provide some insight?
I just found a small grammatical error in my updated info :3. I see there’s a “delete” button next to the preview button of what I uploaded, but is it worth/even possible to reupload?
@Marcelleparcelle I think it’s okay that you only sent one page – I would guess that 50% of those who accepted the spot on the wait list won’t send anything. Also, it’s always quality over quantity!
@Jmoney973 I don’t think a small grammatical error is a big deal. However, if you can delete/re-upload without losing the opportunity it might be worth it. BUT, call admissions first to make sure you can do it since it did say, “you only have one chance to upload.”
@PEnn1248 yea i have proof. i saw a photo
Were we supposed to upload extra recommendations or anything? I just wrote a letter updating them about whats new with me
Do you think I’d be penalized for uploading information today? I had no idea the deadline was the 15th - I checked my decision on my phone and completely missed the FAQ.
I don’t think you’ll be penalized @brooklyn13. As long as the upload link is still good it should not matter. I also read somewhere that last year or the year before there was an applicant that uploaded on the eve of May 1st and still got accepted off the waitlist.
