any limits? is it fast?

i believe it is a t1 connection about 600 kbps...

Does the campus have wi-fi?

yes, campus has wi-fi

woo.

is it in the dorms?

In some of them, yes. In most of the courtyard rooms of the quad, there is.

even if ur building... many don't*... doesn't have wi-fi, there are a lot of cosis on campus with free wireless...

you can probably bring your own wifi
and the connection is way faster than a t1 - most people have that speed (at least downstream) at home

edit to clarify - a t1 is 1.5 Mbps or 188 kBps both ways

Eh? How could you bring your own wireless network?

Thats what i was asking...

just bring an access point

so what would i need to bring to be connected to the internet there?

router... make sure u put a password on it tho, or ur dorm mates will steal ur bandwidth...

Wha? Why a router? Just a Cat 3 cable wouldn't do the trick?
Maybe i'm not understanding how it works.

u would need an access point, u could use an ethernet cord* which they give you ;) but if you want wireless you need ur own router

Oh, for wireless, but otherwise if you're just in your dorm, you can use an ethernet cord for internet access, correct? OK, just wondering. . . I was getting worried. I NEED my Counter-Strike.

whats a router...?
