If that makes you feel better, my son’s state college ranked over 100 in US News U. ranking.
The courses are all the same and the professors are all PhDs from some elite schools.

I would consider transferring but I’m international and there’s extremely limited financial aid for internationals, so that’s why I’m considering taking a gap year. Also, most of my accomplishments happened after Jan 1, so I have some pretty good stuff to reflect on my application this fall!
Thank you and yes it does make me feel better, I’ll take this into consideration (I never really thought much about transferring before since the stats were quite scary).
My friend got off Penn’s waitlist just now.
Just from reading your posts I can tell that you are an extremely diligent, strong-willed person. I have faith that you will accomplish amazing things and I wish you every success in your future endeavors. I know the idea of transferring can be difficult to accept as an amazing alternative at first, but it really is a fantastic opportunity. I know a decent number of people who have had incredible experiences as transfer students. One thing to keep in mind is that if you do decide to transfer you have an entire year to do great things and build meaningful bonds with professors, classmates, and people from different communities. These relationships will give you not only connections but friendships that will hopefully last once you transfer out of that school. Once you do transfer you have connections at your old school and at the new school that you may find useful later on. I sincerely hope that you get off the waitlist but if you don’t, you still have the opportunity to try and transfer.
Seems like the first wave of waitlist decisions just got released for CAS and SEAS and possibly other schools.
Are the decisions coming out rn? Reddits says so…
It would depend why you picked that school to attend, but I’d say no. For example there is a poster currently attending Temple university who was just admitted to Penn as a transfer. Many Ivies look for community college students as well during the transfer cycle. Some have articulation agreements with local community colleges. UCs take a huge number of California community college students.
The issue with simply reapplying is that the only thing that’s different from your current app is what ever activities you do for the next 6 months June-November, so in some ways you’re assuming that it was ECs that were the determining factor in your decision this cycle. Could be but could not be.
Could you send the link to the Reddit?

Just scroll down and you’ll see that there are people who got off.
Yes your situation is different and more challenging to be sure.
Thank you!
Does anyone know if decisions just came out at once or will they stagger them today?
I know someone off wharton today
I guess I didn’t get in… Had a really good LOCI though. I hope they read it.
What school was it for?
For those who got off, how were you notified?
Thank you and to be honest transfer always seemed very far away from me but I also do realize now that I have to get over this and plan accordingly for my future. I hope you best of luck for the waitlist!
Thank you and I really appreciate the information you provided. I also really like your point that there’s only a few months left and the chances of it being the difference of a few ECs being slim. I will take transfer into serious consideration.
So currently, two reported getting off of COE (one at 5:00 and one at 5:45 all EST) and one off of CAS (at 5:00 EST). There’s also a person on this thread knowing that someone got off for Wharton do you know when did they received the email ?@Chen1121
I’m wondering if there’s going to be any more waitlist admits this year.
