Is it possible for me to get in with these stats and should I apply through Questbridge or do early decision? or would I be a better candidate for JHU ED?

Thanks!

does anyone also have an recommendations for schools to apply to?

your ECs are stellar and your academics are very good. i don’t see why it isn’t a strong possibility.

I just got my report card and I was extremely discouraged… I have no idea what to do now… You really think its a possibility?

Anyone have an opinion or experience of whether I should do ED to Penn or JHU? which would be a better match for medical career and chance?

you’ll most likely get in. Upenn extremely values lab research, so continue doing that and you should be fine. the GPA is only one factor, and I don’t think it matters as much as you think.

JHU has the better medical program, but you’re more likely to get into Upenn.

you really think? with that kind of a high school gpa I could get into UPenn?

not get in for sure, but good chance. I would apply ED.

your ECs make up for your gpa. your gpa isn’t bad in the first place, just not as crazy as some other applicants… but how many students can say they’ve gotten published for neurological research? :D

Yeah, based on the threads for JHU ED a lot of students get in with low GPA’s like mine but UPenn I feel its more unlikely with my GPA…
I didn’t want to risk not getting into either. Thanks for the input

anyone else? it would be a huge help =]

ill chance back to anyone

well im not as optimism as what commenters above say. since you are an asian, you are in a great disadvantage. im asian also, and nearly all asians in my school have unweighted gpa 3.9 or above. but whether they would accept you depends on whether you are great in particular area in which your major is in.

i thought being a low income asian would be an advantage but i know where you are coming from…my gpa is really bad

thanks for the help!

it is highly unlikely that you will get in with that GPA.

Your EC’s are good, maybe great, but not outside the standard deviation of the 20000 other Penn applicants you’re competing against. They all have better grades, scores, and hooks than you- I suggest you get that ACT one more time and pool your resources to smoke weed with Johnny Hopkins ED.

yeah I think my stats might be to low for upenn and jhu

anyone else have any thoughts about either schools!
thanks!
