UPenn ED chances, will chance back

UPenn is my top choice!!!!! If I don’t make it, I want to apply ED II to Swarthmore. I’m also applying to Haverford, Duke, and Drexel (safe school) for sure. Probably applying to NYU, Pomona, and Stanford, and maybe Princeton for fun.
Location: South Jersey, Public school.

GPA: 105.28 weighted, 98.85 unweighted (calculated last year, should be closer to 107 this year)

Rank: 1/390 (I am going to graduate Valedictorian)

SAT: CR 700, M 680, W 760

SAT II: History 690, Chemistry 680

ACT: Math 33, English 33, Reading 32, Science 28, Writing 10

AP’s: Music Theory 3, Chemistry 3, History 5. Will be taking Bio, Calc, and English this year. Always took the highest level classes offered to me.

Intended major: Chemistry, Biochem, or Biology

Essays seem pretty good, I would say 8 or 9 on a scale of 1-10. Letters are excellent.

Extracurricular activities: somewhat weak. I was very sick throughout high school, but due to the nature of my illness, I did not include any information about it on my application because I did not want to risk it making me seem weak.

Regardless, the one thing I did keep up was music. I participated in an extensive music program in Philadelphia and played in multiple bands with other students, oftentimes for charity. I included a lot about this on the common app.
Otherwise, I was a member of PA club, did a few hours at the food bank, and held a job for about 2 months.

What are my chances? Will chance back!

You should not have done that with your sickness; I think you should have mentioned that in your application. It would have given your application a new perspective.

I actually wrote up the whole thing and was about to send it but got a few opinions, some actually from my doctors who work at Penn (one is a professor at the Med school, the other is a Penn doctor who went to undergrad at Harvard). I felt really confident that if the school got the true feel of my situation in regards to my illness my acceptance would be guaranteed. However, there was just no way to know if they would’ve taken it the correct way.
